In My Garden First Week of May

The changes in my garden are happening daily!

I walk around every morning and evening noting the growth changes and what's blooming.

Right now I am enamored with my purple alliums...

And the barberry growing near them...

And a small Bergenia blooming out front...

Tulips in the Garden

Some of my tulips have started to bloom!

On the heels of my daffodils,

my backyard tulips are just starting to open.

New in my Garden ~ Early April

Despite winter hanging around long past wanting it around,

spring is happening in my garden.

Yes, finally!

Daffodils in the front flower bed!

Tulips up in compost mulched beds.

Native daylilies and a lonely daff.

Peas just poking above the soil!

Lettuce and radishes need to be thinned soon.

Now all I need is a little rain and some warmth!

Clean up in the Garden

Spring is the time to do a little garden clean up.

All of this came off of 2 butterfly bushes!

Better looking!

Much better looking with compost added for mulch!

Tools of the trade with beds waiting to be cleaned up.

The after: cleaned up, plants moved, compost mulched...much better!

Native daylilies needing to be spruced up.

Much better!

More clean up work will be done this weekend as it will be 70 degrees!

Woot!

Signs of Spring in my Garden

The weather was finally nice last weekend so I did some yard work.

I raked the leaves off my flower beds and exposed some signs of spring.

My black hollyhocks which stayed green all winter.

Daffodils waiting to pop in the front flower bed.

Native daylilies wait for no one!

Tulips and daylilies and someone needs to mulch...oh my!

This yarrow is greening up and sent out a few volunteers a few feet away.

All volunteers are welcome in my garden!
