In My Garden First Week of May

The changes in my garden are happening daily!

I walk around every morning and evening noting the growth changes and what's blooming.

Right now I am enamored with my purple alliums...

And the barberry growing near them...

And a small Bergenia blooming out front...

Peas in a Pot Revisited

In this blog post about container gardening,

I mentioned growing peas in a pot.

Here they are not quite a month later...

They are growing up inside the tomato cage on top of the pot.

This keeps them from sprawling and makes it easier to pick them!

The Lazy Gardener Garden Tip ~ Container Planting

Have a small vegetable garden but would like to plant more?

Use huge pots to expand your garden!

I planted peas in this huge pot and put a tomato cage on top for them to climb.

Yeah, that pot is ugly, but it was free!

This is functional gardening...not pretty!

Just starting to sprout.

The plan is for the peas to climb this tomato cage.

When the peas are done in June, I'll plant potatoes in this pot.

Two crops in one pot!

Happy Gardening!
